We are pleased to present born in harmony, a touring exhibition by Taiwan-born artist Efen Lin, to be held in Kyoto and Tokyo.

When distinct beings encounter one another and begin to resonate, a new life quietly emerges.

It is a sense rooted in an Eastern view of existence — where life and death, light and shadow, order and chaos, all flow together in cycles of harmony, returning, and renewal.

Within a single stone lies the vastness of a mountain landscape.

Within a single spore, the endless reach of a universe.

When my hands touch the earth, I feel as though I am standing between coming into being — and returning to where it all began.

Using natural materials, I shape sculptural forms born from the quiet dialogues between body, soil, and time.

The works in born in harmony were envisioned through this theme, and created over the span of a year between Taiwan and Shigaraki.

Each piece carries within it a quiet mystery — a small universe, distant yet intimate. I invite you to come close, and simply feel.

In nature, all things move with one rhythm that threads through the world.

Like musical notes, each form echoes the next, composing the silent song of life.

I give shape to what cannot be spoken — using only my hands.

To live in tune with the pulse of nature — perhaps that is my role in this world.
